Killin' It 026: Events

Tomorrow I head off to Scotland for the weekend and then to Peterborough, London, and Oxford for a series of events and photo shoots.  I'm one lucky girl.  I get to see my friend Lisa get married in one of the most gorgeous places in the world, visit vodou practitioners,shoot some photographs wearing Julie Schworm's wonderful accessories, and be a part of amazing literary and art events with Year Zero Writers.

If you are in Oxford on May 19th please say hello to me and Year Zero member Dan Holloway.  We will be presenting a great event at Albion Beatnik Bookstore. Special thanks to The Project Room and OVADA.

On May 20th, The utterly awesome Year Zero Writers Collective and Knickerbocker Circus will be collaborating on an exciting event.  We have the  privilege of being hosted by one of London’s biggest literary nights, the Literature Lounge at the Poetry Cafe in Covent Garden, home of the National Poetry Society.  Please come say hello!

The event will be comprised of an interactive installation of vintage typewriters similar to the the KC event last summer, readings (see below), and an art exhibit by London based artist and Year Zero friend, Sarm.

Killin' It 025: Live At The Literature Lounge

Exciting things are brewing here in the Caravan.  From May 13-23 I will be travelling through Scotland and England stopping in Glasgow, Peterborough (Hopefully), London, and Oxford (Details TBA). I am honored to be a part of it all.

The Caravan 022: Domes For Haiti and Lit Readings

I'm a little late to the game but I just donated a piece to Domes for Haiti.  There is an art auction April 29  8-11 p.m. at Sugarland.  Sugarland is located at 221 n9th St btwn Roebling and Driggs.  I won't be able to attend as I have the consumption, but please attend and help out a great cause.

Eric Nelson, who wrote The Silk City Series will be doing a few readings this and next week.  One here in the city,one In Philly, and one in MD.  Details below.

The Caravan 07: Swimming Cities: Ass Don't Tell Party

Good morning my little booty lovers.  As you may know I'm part of an artist collective called Swimming Cities

Swimming Cities is a diverse and evolving collaboration of artists,builders, and visionaries who come together each year to embark on a challenging large-scale project. Originally united through our common friendship and talent by the international artist Swoon, the group traces its roots back to the DIY raft project on the Mississippi River, the "Miss Rockaway Armada". Taking a new waterway each year, the project creates a vivid community of artists floating into towns to present an inspiring, interactive environment that encompasses art, sculpture, music and performance. Each year the Swimming Cities conceives new rafts and builds them with mostlyfound materials in an organic design process. The multi-layered anduncommon talents of our members inspire us to continuously lookfor new ways to materialize our style of unique living art. Swimming Cities will be hosting a party to raise money for our collaborative boat project in India.  This parties theme is "Ass Don't Tell" and will be celebrating the glorious roundness of a well shaped booty.  Unfortuantely I won't be able to make this party but there will be awesome dances in booty shorts, booties on the walls, good beats, and silk screening.  Of course all of this will happen at The House of Yes
